An attachment point allows you to attach equipment to non-OLE assets, such as walls and soffits. Here's how you create one.
Step 1: Place a marker
Place a circle in the position you would like to create the attachment point.
Step 2: Navigate to the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 3: Click the 'Place' button
This will prompt you to click a marker.
Step 4: Click the marker, then right-click anywhere on the screen
This will prompt you to click on your rails.
Step 5: Click the left rail
This should be the leftmost rail of the tracks you wish the attachment point to be associated with when looking in the direction of increasing chainage.
Step 6: Click the right rail
This should be the rightmost rail of the tracks you wish the attachment point to be associated with when looking in the direction of increasing chainage.
Once clicked, the 'Create Structure' window will open.
Step 7: Select 'Attachment Point' from the 'Type' drop-down menu
This will change the options and layout of the 'Create Structure' window.
Step 8: Enter 'Structure Details'
Give your structure a name, enter the 'Chainage', and review your structure support label. Find out more about structure naming rules here.
Step 9: Select your attachment point type from the drop-down menu
This selection defines your 2D structure symbol. Selecting 'None' will result in a standard structure line.
In this example we have selected a 'Wall'.
Step 10: Position your attachment point
Adjust the following settings to your requirements:
Relative Height: Height of the attachment point in metres, relative to the top of foundation
Height: Z-axis height of the attachment point in metres, relative HRL, plus or minus the relative height
RECOS: Distance from the attachment point to the running edge of the closest rail in metres (more information here)
Bearing: Rotation of the attachment point in degrees measured from north (0°)
Step 11: Click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Create Structure' window and place your attachment point.
