Some mid-point anchor (MPA) on gantry arrangements contain components that must be added as in span equipment. To do this, just follow these steps.
If you have not yet added an MPA to your gantry, check out this article first.
Step 1: Navigate to the ‘In Span’ section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click the 'Attach' button
Step 3: Click the structure which includes your MPA on gantry equipment
In this example, ‘LD-03-MPA’ has been selected. Once you've clicked on the structure, the ‘Create In Span equipment’ window will open.
Step 4: Click 'Locate' and select the structure immediately preceding your MPA structure
This is so we can place the in span equipment that precedes your MPA in direction of decreasing chainage.
In this example, ‘LD-03-11’ has been selected, as it immediately precedes ‘LD-03-MPA’, which is the structure with MPA on gantry equipment attached.
Once you've clicked on the structure its name will appear in the 'From Structure' drop down.
Step 5: In the 'Distance' section, change the 'Ratio' value to '1.000'
This means the in span equipment will be placed on the front of the MPA on gantry equipment.
Step 6: Click on the 'Item' drop-down and select the in span equipment you require
In this example ‘C99-E08’ has been selected as it is in the correct orientation for the arrangement being demonstrated.
Step 7: Click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Create In Span equipment' window.
Your first piece of in span equipment has been added to the MPA on gantry.
Step 8: Click the ‘Attach’ button in the 'In Span' section of the Lineardraft toolbar again
Step 9: Click the structure which includes your MPA on gantry equipment again
Once you've clicked on the structure, the ‘Create In Span equipment’ window will open.
Step 10: In the 'Distance' section, change the 'Ratio' value to '0.000'
This means the in span equipment will be placed on the back of the MPA on gantry equipment.
Step 11: Click on the 'Item' drop-down and select the in span equipment you require
In this example ‘C99-E08 (Reversed)’ has been selected as it is in the correct orientation for the arrangement being demonstrated.
Step 12: Click 'Confirm'
This will close the 'Create In Span equipment' window.
Your second piece of in span equipment has been added to the MPA on gantry.
