We use Squirrel.Windows as part of Lineardraft Desktop's update system. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Squirrel.Windows it can sometimes cause anti-virus and/or anti-malware protection software to complain.
This is a FALSE POSITIVE.
Looking at the detection results in your anti-virus or anti-malware system, you'll note that it has been detected as a 'generic' and/or 'heuristic' threat. This means fundamentally that these protection systems are guessing and returning false positives.
Okay, I understand it's a False Positive, but what are you going to do about it?
After feedback from our users, we are looking at replacing Squirrel.Windows and removing the auto-update functionality of Lineardraft Desktop. We anticipate releasing a new version of Lineardraft Desktop in the strategic period July-Sept 2021.
In the meantime, please add %localappdata%/LineardraftDesktop as a white-listed location. This will suppress any false positives for the time being.
