Sometimes 2D annotations can get in the way. Use the tabs below to see how to move an annotation using either MicroStation or AutoCAD.
Step 1: Click on the annotation(s) you want to move
If you want to move multiple annotations, simply hold down the Ctrl key whilst clicking on your annotations.
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Annotations’ section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 3: Click the 'Move' button
Step 4: Click to select a point of reference
This defines the place your cursor will pick-up the annotation(s) you want to move.
Step 5: Move the cursor to the target location and click
A preview will display the selected annotation(s) in the new location before you click to confirm.
Step 1: Click and drag to create a selection area around the annotation(s) you want to move, then click to confirm
If you need to select more annotations, you can repeat this step as many times as you need to highlight all the annotations you want to move.
Step 2: Navigate to the 'Modify' section of the 'Home' tab
Step 3: Click the 'Move' button
Step 4: Click to select a point of reference
This defines the place your cursor will pick-up the annotation(s) you want to move.
Step 5: Move the cursor to the target location and click
A preview will display the selected annotation(s) in the new location. With the annotation(s) moved, you now need to lock them in place.
Step 6: Navigate to the 'Annotations' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 7: Click the 'Move' button
Step 8: Click and drag to create a selection area around the annotation(s) you have moved, then click to confirm
If you need to select more annotations, you can repeat this step as many times as you need to highlight all the annotations you have moved.
Step 9: Press the 'Enter' key
This locks the annotation(s) in place.
