Click on the structure you wish to attach the backtie to.
Step 4: Select 'Backties'
Click the 'Backties' button in the ‘Edit Structure’ window.
Step 5: Add your backtie

Support: Defines which mast the backtie should be attached to, in the case of portal structures.
Position: The position of the backtie can be either 'Dynamic' or 'Fixed'.
In the 'Dynamic' position, it is only necessary to select the 'Distance' of the backtie from the structure as it will automatically be placed in line with the structure, parallel to the track. The 'Invert' button can be clicked to move the backtie to the opposite side.
In the 'Fixed' position, the form will change to the below, showing the X and Y coordinates, as well as a bearing angle. This gives you more freedom to place the backtie anywhere you'd like in the model.
Backtie: Select the type of backtie to be used in the design.
Override Style: Lineardraft will automatically select a default backtie style, which can be changed manually by ticking the check box and using the dropdown menu. Learn more about how the default backtie style is selected here.
Height: Defines the height of the backtie connection on the structure, relative to HRL.
Foundation: Select the type of backtie foundation you want.
Baseplate: Select the baseplate you want to use with the selected backtie foundation.
ToF: Top of Foundation defines the level of the top surface of the foundation, relative to sea level. 'Reset to HRL' can be checked to set the ToF to the same level as the highest rail associated with the structure.
Length: The vertical length of the foundation. ToF height will remain constant and the bottom of the foundation will move as length is altered.
Step 7: Click 'Confirm'
Click the 'Confirm' button on the 'Backties' window to confirm the newly added backtie.
Step 8: Confirm changes to structure
Click the 'Confirm' button on the 'Edit Structure' window to confirm changes to the structure.
The backtie will now be added to the 3D model and 2D plan views, with corresponding backtie annotations where applicable.
Please note: Any backtie changes won't be final until they are confirmed in the 'Edit Structure' window, even if they have been confirmed in the 'Backtie' window. If you have overridden the backtie style, the Lineardraft Console will appear to confirm this.
