Lineardraft views allow you to control how your model is displayed in a CAD viewport. How this works is slightly different between views, as described below.
Please note: View functions are applied to the current active view in your CAD application.
3D View
Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Views’ section on the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click on the ‘3D’ button
This will turn on all levels associated with the 3D view and turn off all 2D levels. Your view will display the smallest section of your model necessary to include all existing Lineardraft elements in it.
It will also bring up the ‘Select a Structure’ prompt at the bottom left of the screen.
Step 3 (optional): Select a structure by which to orientate your view
This allows you to set the orientation of your view, which will be rotated in order to display this structure from an isometric viewpoint, as seen in the image below. Until you use another function, you will be able to continue selecting structures to change your view orientation.
Plan View
Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Views’ section on the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click on the ‘Plan’ button
This will turn on all levels associated with the plan view and turn off all 3D levels, and rotate the view to plan. By default, your view will display the smallest section of your model necessary to include all existing Lineardraft elements in it.
Step 3 (optional): Select a structure
This allows you to set the orientation of your view, which will be rotated so that the selected structure’s track plane is positioned vertically, as seen in the image below. Until you use another function, you will be able to continue selecting structures to change your view orientation.
Orthographic Views
Orthographic views allow you to view different orientations of an individual structure in your model. You can select between Cross-Section (Front), Back, Left, Right and Top views.
Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Views’ section on the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click on an orthographic view button
This will bring up the ‘Select a Structure’ prompt at the bottom left of the screen. In this example we will select 'Cross Section'.
Step 3: Select a structure
Your view will immediately update to display the desired orientation of the structure, as seen in the image below.
Top Tip: The view function will be applied to the current active view, but you can use other views to select structures.
