In Lineardraft, an ornament is an additional object which can be added to a structure and subsequently edited by following the steps below.
Step 1: Navigate to the 'Structures' section of the Lineardraft toolbar
Step 2: Click the 'Adjust' button
Step 3: Select a structure
Click on the structure you wish to attach the ornament to. This will open the 'Edit Structure' window.
Step 4: Select 'Ornaments'
Click the 'Ornaments' button on the 'Edit Structure' window. This will open the 'Ornaments' window.
Step 5: 'Add' or 'Edit' ornament
Click 'Add' to attach an ornament to the structure, or select an ornament from the list and click 'Edit' to edit an existing one. Doing so will open the 'Add Ornament' or 'Edit Ornament' window, respectively.
Step 6: Configure ornament and click 'Confirm'
Review the options in this window. Clicking 'Confirm' will close this window.
Attach To: Which part of the structure the ornament should be attached to, e.g. mast, gantry, drop tube, etc.
Height/Distance: If attaching to a mast or drop tube, sets height of the ornament, relative to HRL. If attaching to a gantry, sets the distance from centre of mast.
Ornament: The type of ornament to be attached to the structure.
Location: Defines where on the parent item you would like to place the ornament. Some locations can be adjusted using the 'Height' or 'Distance' box, whilst some locations are limited. Learn more about locations here.
Rotation: Defines how the ornament is orientated on the parent item. The available rotation options are defined by the selected 'Location'.
Step 7: Confirm ornament
Click the 'Confirm' button on the 'Ornaments' window to confirm your choices. This closes the 'Ornaments' window.
Step 8: Confirm changes to structure
Click the 'Confirm' button on the 'Edit Structure' window to confirm changes to the structure. This closes the window and the changes will then be applied to your model.
Please note: The changes will not be final until they are confirmed in this window, even if they have been confirmed in the 'Ornaments' window.
